Spotlight: Phoenix Seating

As part of our commitment to ensuring every aspect of your vehicle is in excellent health, the Asset Assured team undergo equipment familiarisation directly with product manufacturers.

Most recently, our Fleet Operations Manager visited Phoenix Seating in Kingswinford, one of the UK’s most recognised multi-functional seat manufacturers in the industry, with a view to understanding the workings of the seats being fitted to the vehicles that we have on contract.

This gave us a great insight on how to maintain the seats and how to proactively rectify common issues using simple solutions.

Having this level of product knowledge potentially allows us to solve seat issues with just a quick phone call rather than the vehicle being taken off the road unnecessarily, causing increased downtime and cost to our clients.

About EEAST

Serving six counties and covering 7,500 square miles, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides accident and emergency services in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

EEAST also provide Patient Transport Services for patients needing non-emergency transport to and from hospital, treatment centres and other similar facilities and who can’t travel unaided because of their medical condition or frailty.

How it works

From manufacturer, the vehicles go to a specialist conversion contractor who fit out the ambulances with all the medical and accessibility equipment to a high specification.

The ambulances then come under our management for all aspects of roadworthiness from servicing, tyre maintenance to repairs and breakdown recovery. If ambulance crew need to report an issue, we’ve provided a central telephone number and our friendly team progresses the matter until its resolved.

Our contract with EEAST

In early 2021, Asset Assured secured a five-year contract for the Trust’s new fleet of 36 patient transport ambulances. We provide a full maintenance management solution – financial and operational – ensuring their assets are in safe hands.
